The program
Creative Bodies
This workshop aims to provide avenues for personal creativity through movement and body-work. Participants will engage with impulses involving not only the physical aspects of gesture formation but also emotional and imaginative processes. Drawing on Jerzy Grotowski’s methodology, the workshop considers individual creative flow within a space where associations, signs, images, memories and reactions may intersect across different components of the mind-body system.
Shared activities are designed to encourage exploration of creative methods that draw from internal resources, which can contribute to both therapeutic outcomes and the development of performance practices and new modes of expression.
An integral part of Creative Bodiesis the use of sonic stimulus through the live participation of drummer Davide Farebegoli, along with other musicians such as Marco Migani, Salvo Sanchirico and Amedeo D’Alessandro, who work with instrumental and electronic sounds. Interaction with rhythm and live sound is intended to facilitate connections between participants and performers, providing a structured environment for physical and mental engagement related to creative awareness.
The program, in collaboration with guest teachers and artists, focuses on movement and awareness through practices including yoga, contact improvisation basic elements, site-specific outdoor work, collective improvisations, voice and breath sessions, devisingand collective creation. It also includes forums and discussions with visiting artists from the fields of performance and music, invited to discuss their artistic approaches and share principles intended to prompt creative responses—such as choreographer Paola Bianchi and experimental composer Enrico Malatesta among others.
Daily communal living offers opportunities for short workshops aligned with context activities. These include a collective cooking session using local traditional recipes, a field walk aimed at identifying edible herbs and discussions with chef and poet Ivan Fantini about food and its political dimensions. Additional workshops will investigate relationships between creativity and the natural environment, such as a photography lab focused on the body in nature (led by Michela Mariani), and a puppet-making lab utilizing natural and recycled materials (led by Ignazio Bortot).
At the core of the program is a pulse, a living energy nurtured over time by a community involving artists who have each left a trace of their own unique being. As you listen, moveand create, you become part of an ongoing story, defined by openness, vulnerability and a relentless curiosity for the unknown.
